Kiwanis Club of Redlands
of America Awards
Kiwanis Club of Redlands has long been involved in
recognizing outstanding students of all ages. In 1999, the CALNEVHA District governorís wife initiated the Hope
of America Awards as her project.
Since then, our Club has presented these awards
annually to elementary or middle school students in the
Redlands Unified School District on a rotating basis.
forms are sent to the schools each spring and teachers are
requested to nominate outstanding students.
The criteria are:
1. Capacity for leadership
2. Outstanding citizenship
3. Willingness to serve in their
schools and community
4. Academic competency
is our hope that this recognition will encourage the
students and spark their desire to maintain the highest
standards of academic achievement, moral behavior, and
responsibility to their community. In honoring these
students, we also commend the parents who love, support and
encourage their children to excel. We also want to
acknowledge the teachers to whom teaching is more than a
job; it is a mission. We extend our appreciation to the
principals who provide the supportive environment for the
teachers to teach and the students to learn.
Hope of America Awards are presented at the Kiwanis Club
meeting on the first Tuesday of June each year.
The students, their parents, teachers and principals
are invited to attend. The Kiwanis Club meets on Tuesdays
at noon in the Masonic Temple Hall at 131 Cajon Street.
